# $ORB

A Cornerstone of Decentralized Governance in the IGGalaxy Ecosystem

The $ORB token serves as the driving force behind our ecosystem governance model. This token has been specifically adapted to facilitate community-driven decision-making and promote a decentralized, democratic approach to decisions and proposal submissions by our community.

It is a ERC-20 token deployed on the Polygon Network. It is the [Governance](/iggalaxy/governance.md) token of IGGalaxy and is obtained by staking [$IGG](/iggalaxy/about-iggalaxy/introduction-to-iggalaxy/ecosystem-tokens/usdigg.md) in capsules.

**Participatory Governance**

The $ORB token empowers its holders to actively engage in governance processes within the our ecosystem. By granting users the ability to propose, discuss, and vote on a wide array of initiatives, updates, and modifications affecting the platform, the $ORB token nurtures a governance model that aligns with our [vision](/iggalaxy/about-iggalaxy/introduction-to-iggalaxy/vision.md).

**Incentivizing Engagement**

Holders are encouraged to involve themselves in governance activities, offering their unique ideas and perspectives to help shape the platform's and the ecosystem trajectory, more specifically regarding the economic layer.

**Ensuring everyone is heard**

The governance framework facilitated by the $ORB token is critical in fostering platform stability and sustainability. By incorporating the community's input into decision-making processes, we are better equipped to adapt and evolve in response to users needs and preferences, thereby promoting long-term success and growth.

{% hint style="warning" %}
As of now, the $ORB token occupies a central position in the IGGalaxy ecosystem as its governance token, where accountability for decisions related to the tokenomics layer is shared between all.
